Telkom humble pie

So, Im sure it is well documented that I am not a fan of Telkom. Been logging faults left right and centre just to get the usual SMS's telling me they working on it and then telling me its resolved a few days later.

Anyway, just received a call now from the technician who apparently fixed something at the exchange which was causing my packet loss and astronomical pings. He promised that when I get home, all will be 100%.

I saved his cell number. :D

if its fixed, then yes, I take back all the crap I say about Telkom. Actually quite sad that a customer is pushed to feeling grateful and "non-worthy" of just what I think should be normal service.

You're the lucky one, I had to go into a telkom direct shop and make a call, create a scene before a technician actually visited my place to find that the phone line dangling from the pole to my home is rusted and just about broken.

I had SNR that ranged from 14 to -3 (if a minus is even possible), logged several calls, and having them say that its been checked and cleared. so yea, same story as you had, only I had to raise hell before they did something about it.
 
Well i hope they handle my fault much better. I'm too new to start fighting with them already

I have now logged the SAME fault 3 times ..... I still think Telkom are bunch of ferking idiots ....

(Oh an the fault has been ''fixed'' twice ................not.)

Problem seems to have been fixed. Pings to the exchange are in the 35ms region with 0% packet loss which is much better than the +700ms and 10% packet loss it used to be.

Trick it seems is to log a fault under the "noisy" category to get technician to actually do his job and go out to fix the problem.
