Telkom internet 364kbps to 1mb...

I need some help please. am I supposed to go to Telkom or phone them and have the upgrade done or is it already working?

I have tested it and there is absolutely no difference in my internet speed since this upgrade announcement.

It will happen automatically. Keep in mind that 384kbps is getting up'd last if I recall correctly, plus its not all happening at once... it's telkom so it'll take em a little while.

Telkom will start to upgrade its “Up to 1024kbps” ADSL users to “Up 2048kbps” on Friday 24 August 2012, and consumers should start to enjoy the higher speeds without any intervention from their side.

Telkom further confirmed that it is on track to start upgrading 384kbps clients to 1Mbps from 1 October 2012.

“Upgrades will happen automatically as part of a potential six week period to upgrade the total base per speed category,” said Telkom.

It will be interesting to see if borderline lines at the current speed are able to work at the higher upgrade speeds.
