Paying for an ADSL account online is very handy when you
are capped by the miserable beep beep. They just on they keep
on billing additional months and you pay for your accounts
on when you need to top up, they just will zap your credit
card 4 x R230. This really pees me off. I did not sign
a contract with them and pay for a new account every time
I run out.
Serves me right for dealing with them. Time to swop out
to a smaller ISP thats does not put me in Call Queue.

That's what Im afraid off.

I ordered Telkom Closer plan1 to avoid the istallation on my new line.

After Telkom installed the line I went into the Telkom Direct shop and ordered DoBroadband2.

After Telkom converted my line a sales lady at the Telkom shop mailed me my Telkominternet login details.

All was well. However after receiving my usage stats via email I noticed that my threshold was 1gig and not 2gig as I was expecting being on Do2.

After phoning the useless 10215 number it was confirmed I was on a 1gig account only. No mention of DoBroadband at all.

Today I went back to the Telkom Direct shop where i applied and after speaking to the same lady I put my order with she said someone made a mistake I should be on Do2.

Now she says she corrected it and put me on Do2 and gave me new login details for the 2Gig account.

Now Im unsure if I'll be billed for the one and two gig ,because I used the 1gig account already.

She said she cancelled the 1gig account and and I will not be billed. Sure enough I cant log on to the net using it anymore, but I have a feeling I will still be billed for it.
 
Happened to me last month. Ordered a 2gb, got a 1, then when it stopped working I checked and it was a 1gb...

I did ask about the username that didn't have the 2gbsh but he said it was fine, so I assumed it was...

I told them it's not my fault that they gave me the 1gb but : "You already used it, you will get billed for it...".

Telkom really needs some accountability... They're just too darn big!
 
Uhm I use Telkominternet ,because you pay for 2gig and actually get 4gig no?

Same happened to me, i ordered Do2 2gig but got 1. Went back after i used the 1gig and was changed to Do2.
On the next bill i got refund for the 1 gig that i already used and paid only for new 2 gig.
 
Yes and when you phone their useless support staff to log a fault on your line one of the first things they ask is if you are using Telkominternet. If not they tend to pass the buck to your Isp.

So instead I choose to have everything from the modem to my isp with Telkom so I can blame everything on them.
