Telkom Internet down?

Unable to access mail. Keep on getting time out errors from mail servers.

Somerset West Area.
 
Just checked again and Telkom mail servers still unresponsive. Keeps on timing out.
 
Webmail seems to be down and I've only received about 50% of my overnight reports so far which are slowly trickling in.
 
There seems to be a problem with mail, smtp.saix.net is refusing to send mail for me atm.
 
Well its raining in many parts of the country. Maybe Telkom is just as susceptible to rain as Eskom i.e. mail server got wet..... :whistle:
 
residential internet is down, it seems that it is trying to reach websites such as cnn.com, but then it fails, still on hold with telkom for ages trying to find out when services will be restored. Currently cannot access anything at all. Morningside and Benmore area.
 
I'm in Northern Jhb and I can't browse at all, nothing is working.

However, funny enough Speedtest.net works just fine. So what's going on...?
 
hi same here, the only site that works is speedtest.net lol, looks like Telkom's main pipe to the internet is broken, when calling their support line, for which I am still holding, they had a recorded message saying that due to eskom load shedding they are also affected...I did not know Telkom also needed coal....for a while I thought it was a Darren Simpson prank call.
 
Same here, keep on getting time out errors from browser. One moment it's OK, next moment just keeps connecting but pages won't open.

Postmasburg N/Cape.
 
All seems well here in PE but we only experienced TI mail problems. TI Webmail is back up and the mail servers seem to be operating in real time again.

Had the same thing earlier. Net just came back on 5min ago though and its faster than its been for a while now
