Mail Manager Plus Use your existing telephone number for fax to e-mail
Use your existing telephone number for fax to e-mail – the fax sender simply dials 088 followed by your full telephone number and you will receive the fax in an electronic format in your e-mail box. The Mail Manager Plus service allows you to receive fax and voice messages in your e-mail box.


As a TelkomInternet customer you will soon be able to to make free Internet voice calls from your PC while you are online. This adds a new dimension to Internet Chat - now you can speak to other online users as you would on a normal telephone call - at no additional cost.
 
no cost, did you say no cost? surely they will have a subscription fee of R10000 or someting slightly more overpriced than that?
 
Prolly only from one TelkomInternet customer to another.. local call charges still apply of course but people will talk for longer because Telkom says its free, then the bill comes...

Its damn criminal to say its free, When you pay them to be able to talk online!!

HOw can anything be free, if, when you don't pay them, you can't use the service!!

I mean, did they invent VOIP? I think not.

Doesn't look like it, except the following restrictions:
Number of messages per mailbox (voice or fax) 30
New message retention days 10
Saved message retention days 10
Maximum pages per fax 20
Maximum (total) fax pages per mailbox 60

I guess once you flush your mailbox, you're good to go again.
 
I have been using the fax to email service for about 8 months now and it is pretty good. I have a fax machine but prefer to recieve them in electronic format and then print them if you want to print. But <insert slag here> there is sometimes a delay between the time that the fax is sent and the time it arrives in your inbox. This I know can be caused by many other factors but I know where I would bet my money if I were a betting man. The of course there is the whole hassle of trying to tell the "most excellent service" service providers i.e telskum droid on the end of 10219, what it is exactly that you want when you order it. They will happily carry on setting up a mail manager account for you, quite confident that they are providing the "most excellent service " all the while blatantly ignoring what you actually asked for. NOw before everyone screams yes I know you need to have mail manager etc but I like to B*tch every now and again or should I say now and then again later. Dont even want to go down the road when the faxes dont come through at all. in all fairness this has only happened once and after speaking to 10 X the wrong people finally found out that "there was actually a problem with this service for the last 3 days"
