I cannot understand how telkom interner (@telkomsa.net) can be hardcapping if they have not announced this to their customers?? All the other ISP's sent information but is telkom internet users received nothing?

Can anybody confirm that TelkomSA is hardcapping.

Somebody must try to go over their 3GB cap and document what happens.

So i've read on these forums... How could they justify not hard capping if they are forcing other ISP's to do so?

They can't which means either they hard cap themselves or they will be forced to soft cap everyone.
...and since soft capping means less money for Telkom I'm pretty sure they'll go for the hard cap.

I phoned ADSL support centre, spoke to a lady who didn't sound too stupid and she said no hardcapp on Telkom accounts. If Telkom was doing something this huge on their side, surely they would've told their employees by now.

Looks like it's only the other ISPs who will be suffering. But let's see, I've downloaded over 5gb so far since 00:00 this morning. Will let you all know tomorrow.

When the whole thing broke, was there not mention of this?

I'm sure I remember posts (which about the costing) stating that:

* Self authenticating ISPs will be charged per GB (ie. hardcapping will need to be imposed by the ISP).
* Non self authenticating ISPs (ie. ISP resellers using SAIX Radius servers for authentication) would be able to have package sizes (ie. 3,5,7 etc.) with a softcap.

I might be wrong (and correct me if I am).
