Telkom Internet staff can view passwords

I thought this was changed to address bandwidth theft but I guess not :eek:
 
that's a bit disconcerting. did you phone the helpdesk and they were able to give you your password?
 
You only confirmed that I though I knew from a long time back I thought they fixed the issue.
 
Heck. My ISP can view my password but the thing is, if something goes happy clappy when I'm not even logged on then I know who to sue for theft of services...
 
Not much point in stealing the password imo. The portnums get logged anyway...so it would be fairly obvious if some cap goes AWOL.
 
True. The scary thing is, on my online logs it goes as far as saying from which phone number I connected each time (never mind the port numbers)
 
Newsflash,

Most ISP's dont encrypt passwords - It's easier with the Radius servers to implement without password hashing.

But yes - it is a bit disconcerting...
