Telkom ISP and Local Cap

Hi Guys!

Ok, I'm really now totally confused with Telkom's account I have.

What I wanna know is, IS all Telkom's ISP accounts those "AllAccess" accounts or do the differ?

For instance, you get this one [email protected]. What cap do you get on this one? 3Gb International, 30Gb local or am I incorrect on this? After I've reached my cap, I get local access, but I don't wanna get billed on it's usage?

And btw, how does the do broadband packed work. Do you also receive and x Gb locap cap after you Cap is finished or do you get billed on it?

1 gb cap on all access, thereafter 10gb local "cap".
2 = 20
3 = 30
 
Ta Milo, I got that, but what I wanna know is, is the account that I have, ex of username in first post, the same as the AllAccess? Atm I do believe it's the same.
 
I'm sure it's the same. There are various types of All Access acounts such as Advanced, Premium, Business, etc. I guess it depends which one you have. I have the 2 GB TelkomInternet-AllAccess and my username format is different to yours. My cousin is on DO1 and his is different to mine. As far as the capping goes, I usually get capped at 2.5 GB (although I did manage 3.7GB last month) and then I get 20GB local. Local is uncapped, which means you can go over the limit, but Telkom can and probably will bill you for every gig you go over, but you won't be capped on local.
 
I think you're right on that Barry! Their all "AllAccess" accounts... So you get your xxgb of local for free and when that's finished, you only get billed!

Not Yet ! Using Do 2 which has 20gig local.


Jan - Way over 20 gig local
Feb - downloaded over 50 gigs on local
Mar - Downloaded 40gig +
Apr - More or less 30 to 40 gig (must check usage tracker again to confirm)
 
Is there a way to split up international and local cap so that i can use local cap before i finish my international cap?

No, not when using a single Telkom account.

There are ways of splitting the traffic but that involves setting up two accounts, one for international and one for local.

All your downloads come off your blended/international cap first. Thereafter, you're restricted to local only usage.

You also appear to have some letters missing from your keyboard.

Yup, only after you've used up the 1GB does the Local-Only kick in.
And, both Local and International throughput use up your first 1GB.
Yup, it's a scam.

There is another option, you can purchase another account and then use that other account for your international throughput, and the remaining LOCAL-ONLY throughput on your Teklom account for local throughput, search this forum for "RouteSentry".
 
I heard that telkom is quite relaxed on the international capping...which account should I get if I want to get the most from the account? standard, advanced, premium?

Yeah, telkom is quite relaxed. I get about 3.5gb international form my 2gb account each month. then I still have 20GB local.
 
i got a 3 gb cap nd i get every month 5.4 gb then it cuts lol
