Telkom ISP .. slow.. :(

I just got the 16gig for R145 per month.. on a 10Mpbs line.

not a bad deal.. but, it's slow and unresponsive. :(

I previously had an Mweb uncapped connection and even with that connection I could stream youtube videos, .. international web site loads where more responsive.. etc.. With this telkom connection I can't stream youtube videos.. and International web sites are just not responsive.. After a week I think I can honestly say that even Mweb uncapped is better or an IS connection is much faster/responsive...

Will probably be cancelling this near the end of the month if it doesnt improve. Can anybody recommend a good capped ISP where the connection is responsive and where I can stream youtube videos.. without breaking the bank.

You can always try that 8ta 10GB Promo thing, everyone seems to be getting that. Maybe your exchange in your area is too congested, are there like huge businesses and heavy downloaders in your area? Try Openweb, i get super fast speed with their uncapped lite plan (uncapped, unshaped).

I'm using Mweb 1MB uncapped.. Streams youtube vids flawlessly.. Telkom 4MB/16gig.. cannot stream youtube VIDS.. wtf... ?

Web sites just load better with mweb 1MB uncapped..(more responsive) Not so good with telkom 4MB.. :(

Only place where Telkom 4MB/16gig works better is when FTP-ing files..

What a joke... Telkcrap probably do not have the kind of capacity to handle their uncapped shart and now all Telkcrap accounts are suffering. aaarggg.. now I just made telcrap richer again for nothing.. :confused:

Anywayz.. will be dumping this telcrap account soon.. move over to mweb 4mb uncapped again.

TI Uncapped 1Mbps account - not too bad for this time of the day...

Just a recap on this.. I had the 16gb all access thing from Telkom.. and it was slow as hell.. :( Changing to an Afrihost capped account solved the problem.. Much faster and must more responsive but more expensive.
 
err maybe your dns settings were just wrong or still on mwebs, it helps to use telkoms local ones
