Hidden behind a veil of often-abused operators, Telkom bosses are either oblivious to the national crises of "Telkom bad service", or so bedazzled by the millions they earn, that they simply just don't care.

Failing to pay a bill on time exposes consumers to the wrath of Telkom's highly efficient and on-the-ball legal monsters.

However, complaints about poor service fall on indifferent ears, and a "can't do", nonchalant attitude.

This is a problem of such magnitude; it has become a national crisis as not enough attention is given to it as it festers.

Spot on comment here!

Very true...

If your service is running bad, or if you have a complaint.. They listen with half a ear... and don't care anyhow...

But if u owe them R5, they will hunt u down!!

R5? Ha! They huint you down if you owe them R1! No really, Telkom once sent me a bill for R1 in total, demanding that I pay this R1 'immediately'. I told them I'd pay it off at 1cent a month, and I promptly went and paid 1c at the Post Office off my bill.

Thread on that saga here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=28220&highlight=telkom+bills
Snap.

I was thinking of that thread and wanted to post about it. :)

The only other thing that peeves me about people that send bills is when I get a bill for something that is already paid.
The last 2 years have been the worst.
I get it often in my business.
Some lady will phone me out of the blue or I get a Statement regarding an Invoice already paid from several months ago from one of my suppliers.
And then I must provide proof that it is paid.
That is like waving the red flag in front of the bull for me. I get so angry.
Now I phone the owner of the business and it usually gets sorted.

Except that I take issue with the claim that Telkodemonopolies bosses act do a suffient amount of work to be earning those millions - IMO it's the minions that do the actual work in just about any company, and they usually earn relatively very little for their efforts...

Come on ic, give them a break. It's hard thinking up all those sneaky policies all the time! And it must be hard avoiding confrontation with pissed off customers like me.

I don't think Telkom could pay me any amount of money to be the CEO or the spokesperson. What a crap job that must be.

But probably the best paid crap job in the country :D
I think the CEO of Eksdom pips it at the post. 900K pm and you have to beg clients to please use opposition energy sources. Wonderful.
