I've spoken to 4 Telkom reps, and none of them know anything about the pooled bandwidth system...What is going on here?

What did you expect? That they know about their own product?

Come on, give the guys a break, you cant expect people that work for telkom to actually know something! :p

I think the new capping system is just a massive smokescreen for Telkomonopoly because some ISP's got wise to this anti-competitive practice.

Personally I feel TelkomInternet is not able to cap their customers, so they came up with the "pooled bandwidth" story. If the pooled bandwidth thing is doable, why is the rest (isp's) not doing it?

This is an extract from an e mail I got from one of Telkom's Product Managers.

-"We have opted for an alternative which allows for the average across the base to run at 3 GB and not the individual. So we looked at it slightly differently and at this have not had to hard cap one subscriber as yet.

So I suggest that you take your concerns up with your ISP to find out why your service has been hard capped as this new model offer greater flexibility than they had before.

Warm regards "-

(Please note that this is not a recent e mail but it surely is an e mail dated well after the per gig billing was introduced (1st November))

Wow I can't believe that they lie so blatantly.
Lot's of people have been hard capped.

Lots of people on this forum complain that they can't auth and think there is something wrong with there service but they are actually hard capped.

Common Telkom stop lying in our faces!!!
