I have been having intermittent issues with my telkom DSL line, I have been swapping out routers just to make sure that it is not the router, my main router is Asus N14U.
Okay so i send an email to my ISP explaining my issues this is the response
"Thank you for your valued e-mail.
Upon interrogating your line, though the line is supposed to be 10Mbps, Telkom's system has set service speed to 12.4Mbps and this
is the reason you are having connectivity issues. When an ADSL line is configured at too high a speed than the line can handle this causes
noise on the line which in turn causes slow or intermittent access.
Telkom's system performs "Profile Optimization" every 96 hours with the intention of syncing lines higher so that clients can get more for less
but as you've experienced this comes with side effects. We've notified Telkom of this and requested that they try to force the line back to 10Mbps.
Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Have a great day and please let me know if I can help with anything else!"
Okay so my question here is my line is currently fit to go to 40mbs vdsl, So how come this reply makes no sense?
