Morning All

Ok. Let me start by saying that i point blank hate Telkom. Yesterday morning i logged a call about my line. I am getting very slow speeds on my 4MB.

So i got told that it would take 1 to 5 Hours to get resolved.......

It is now 25 Hours later and i had to call to find out. Nothing has been done. They are only testing it now. Then the technician still needs to get it sorted. I got told another few days.

Also i was holding for 20mins then called again and still holding. Customer Officiant i do not think so.

I cannot wait till someone else launches and Burns Telkom to the ground. E.I They are going to lose a lot of clients and shares. LOL :D

The last thing. I am getting packets losses on IS and Telkom accounts to the Exchanges / DNS.

I am getting timeouts on webpages. slow speeds. Max 100KB/Sec if i am lucky. That happens 3 time a week.

Cheers

ok... have u checked your SNR up and down, Line attenuation values and synch values...

those 3 are critical in telling us more info....

remember...its not 4meg! - its up to 4meg...so if you have distance as factor - 4meg not a given.

This is from Axxess.co.za

http://www.axxess.co.za/speed-test.php

Test from Axxess to (You)

Your current bandwidth reading is:
3.28 Mbps

Which means you can download(Max) at 420.08 KB/sec.

Before all this started i was getting 200KB/sec to 360KB/sec. I have been having problems for the last 2 months now.

Cheers
BB :)

ok...

but that doesn't provide 1 jack detail about your line

please provide line/quality details otherwise we can't give inputs.

Yeah bladebob, that only tells us. Whilst u were running that speed-test yur line was fine for that period.

log onto your router and check your line speed and SNR (it'll be rated in db or will say 4096K 15 SNR down, 384K 12 SNR up.. or somethin' like that)

LOL, not if he has a Telkom router, most telkom routers handed out in the last 6-12 months have had that functionality removed, telkom don't want customers knowing thier 20 year old line has not been maintained regardless of the high monthly rental they pay.

you say your using IS which always has problems?

have u tried a saix account ?

i suspect IS is to blame and not telkom

:D erm.. ONLYME ..u sure about ur facts..

*=has line details

marconi adsl 4 port wifi router = *
telkom 5102g = *
mega100WR = *
ADSL premium combo = *
and a certain usb model (don't have the exact model)= *

those are the modems in the last 6-12 months :D

ok. i have tried IS and SAIX. Both are up to **** at the moment.

Specs:

D-Link Modem
Linksys Router
IS Uncapped Account

None of them are USB.

I am getting timeouts when i ping the DNS Servers.

So i must be my line.
