Hi, I rent a flat and wanted to get an internet account for my place but I can't do this cos the line is already active by another person but the owner of the apartment who doesn't stay there does not remember the telephone number. where can I get help?

Plug in a phone and call your cell... there is a number you can call from the phone to have the number read to you but phoning a cell will be easier

chances are its cancelled unless he is still paying for it in which case his statement will have the number.
You probably have to get telkom to "install" a new phone line for you, they will just activate the new number in the same telephone Jack if you tell them where it is.

plug a phone into the jack and dial 101999, it will then read the number out to you.
