Hi, I recently moved into my new house (bank repo) and there is a telkom line in already. Obviously I don't have the telephone number attached to it. I would like to go adsl route, it can only be cheaper than lte.

My question is, what do I do? Who do I contact, and the final question which isp will give me the best uncapped bang for buck?

Regards,
'balls.

Call telkom to send out a technician to activate the line. Once thats done he will issue you with the landline number.

As for which ISP to use, I dont use ADSL so I wont be much help.

At this stage keep your line with Telkom...

ISP will depend on your primary usage. Different strokes for different folks!

Is there dial tone on the line?
Can you make a call?
Chances are the line is unpaid and suspended.
Rather get a new line activation than stuck with the debt of the old line.
Also a new number, else will get calls for money owing from the old owner

Sounds like good advice, just apply on the Telkom website?

Some streaming, mostly media downloads and regular home stuff. We're on 100mbps fibre at work, so I mostly head there for things.
