Telkom line installation failure

My line installation was scheduled for today. The technician showed up around 09:30 took a look around; told me he'd return later, but never did.

Received a sms at 16:10 saying a technician has been dispatched (no one showed up).

After calling 10210 I received an sms saying my installation is now scheduled for next week :confused:

Is this normal + any way to speed up the process?
 
Yeah they are sometimes very full of ****. Same thing happened to me. Guy showed up and said ohh ok no sorry he needs to get cable guys to pull a new cable in and blah blah blah. I questioned him asking why because the line has 4 copper cables in. 2 are in use for the current adsl line why not just connect a new wall socket with the remaining 2 cables?

He kept quiet and after only just 35min the line was installed with a new land line number and adsl up and running....
