So I moved into an apartment this month. There is an existing pre-paid line in the apartment but the owner doesn't want us to convert it into a post paid line because they have some grandfathered deal still actve on it. We ordered a new line and got confirmation that it would be installed on Saturday by Telkom. Of course no one came to install anything. Today I got through to the call centre and the agent told me that my line is only going to be installed in mid April and there are no free ports in my area at the moment. I'm sharing the place with 2 other people and we need internet for university assignments and updates on a daily basis. I have a message with confirmation of the installation and a case number. Any ideas about what we can do in the interim? 3G cards are probably too expensive an option right now as we would each need an individual one.
