Telkom Line Installation

Hi

Sorry if this has been posted before; search results didn't yield anything substantial.

I want to get an ADSL ready line installed and connected to my local exchange. Telkom has tuned me the following:
(All figures +-)
1. Residential Line Installation: R550
2. ADSL Line Installation: R750
Total Cost for ADSL ready line: R1300.00 excl line rental.

I did mention that I want self-install.

Is this right? Or have they gone full retard and failed to understand what it is that I want?

for that prize I will go 8ta think R1800 60Gigs per month.

If you have a telephone line already installed and you opt for self-installation it should cost nothing, if you don't have a telephone line installed and you opt for self-installation I assume the first charge applies. Can't see why they are charging you twice to install a telephone line since ADSL works over the same line the phone works over.
