Following on from this:
Have a problem on my phone and/or line today. Line is working but phone not ringing. Can dial out fine, and if you pick up the silent phone you can answer a call. Is it possibly a line fault i.e. not enough power coming through to ring (normal handset not a handset that requires electricity)? Have to test it with another phone first. Current Panasonic phone is about 6 months old.
Installed an ADSL router on the line on Monday but it was off after because my ADSL is not activated yet. Phone is on a filter and tried with direct connection to phone jack - still no ring.
Sound like a handset issue (pardon the pun)
Test with another handset.
Will test tomorrow.
Tried another handset - same issue - line is working, but phone doesn't ring.
@Airwolf , Possibly know what is wrong. PM me the phone number causing the problem, mate wants to check something.
Applied through Afrihost, so don't have an order number to contact Telkom directly.
Other applications I did for work colleagues in different suburbs here were completed in 2 weeks. Also through Afrihost.
Sorry, cannot assist.
Regarding your phone... there is either a problem on your copper line or the ringer card in the ISAM (MSAN) is faulty. Either way you will have to log a fault and Telkom must fix it. And it will have to be fixed before they can activate your DSL service!
Okay, thanks, will report it now.
App doesn't have a note feature - logged it as intermittent service.
Just got a call from Telkom (that rang) problem sorted. That was quick. Thanks Mickey
