Hi all,
I just want to get some clarity on an issue our office seems to be having with their Telkom line. The pbx shows the pstn line as disconnected which obviously means no telephone but the adsl is working, slight connection interruptions now and then but overall it works.
We also have a mobile pstn line which I plugged into the landline port to test if perhaps the port had gone... line is picked up.
ADSL and pbx connect to a pots filter which then goes to the office wall box for telkom. Filter has been changed with no result. Looking in the cable box, 1 pair is connected to one pair going out to the street which is apparently normal for both adsl and telephone operation.
Is it possible that adsl could still work even if 1 of the 2 wire pair is damaged inside the office ( thereby making the telephone inoperable ) or is this more likely to be an external telkom issue? It's about a 25m run to the pots filter.
Thanks
