Hi,
So I'm thinking of switching over to ADSL. I phoned Telkom's helpdesk and the lady on the phone told me that my area which is Brackendowns in Alberton only has line speeds of up to 1mbps. How can this be possible? I mean a few years ago they told me there was only 512 lines available in my area. That was about 5+ years ago.. A Few months, maybe a year ago they were lying cables in front of my house, so did they upgrade from 512 to a full 1mb, wow, lol!
Everytime I phone Telkom with the same problem I get different answers from different opperators.. Are there anyone here that stays in Brackendowns that uses ADSL with atleast 4mbps - 10mbps line speed? It is 2013, some people are already using 20mbps - 40mbps, how can my area still be stuck with a lousy 1mb? Who can I speak to about this cause clearly their helpdesk don't know what they are talking about.. If its true and my area only covers 1mbps then Telkom are truly pathetic.
Thanks.
