For the last 3 months, I have a weird issue with my Telkom DSL line speed. Currently only have max 2Mbps in my area, which is what I have.
Anyway, since around November last year, the line speed drops to around 1200kbps. Was perfect for the full year before that - constantly around 1800-1900kbps. Tried a different modem and made no difference.
Anyway, here's the issue: When I log a call and eventually after a few days someone attends to the call, the line speed reverts to normal (around 1900kbps) - this happens almost immediately when I get a SMS from Telkom saying fault restored. Then it starts dropping again, taking about 2 days to get back to 1200 and stays there. If I log the call again, it's back to normal when they restore it, but starts dropping again.
I'm getting a bit tired of logging calls every few weeks - any suggestions on what to do? I know logging a call again will fix it, but it drops again after a few days.
Any suggestions?
(BTW, I'm in Noordwyk Midrand, if that makes a difference)
