Telkom Local Over Usage

Has anyone been billed? i went over my 40gig and downloaded 70gig so im worried, hope they reset the tracker again
 
I don't understand why everyone would keep going over the limits when we know (I know just from reading these forums, no TI account) that they should be charging for usage over the alloted local, they even gave a specific price so they obviously are planning on charging at some point.

The promo caps are pretty high for us anyway, you can't really need to keep downloading that much as we know this is purely off the newsservers. No web2.0 content here.

Yet everyone acted really surprised and angry when the first guy got his bill...

i was not surprised, i knew this was going to happen.
especially when this same 'person' got billed extra the one month, panicked, went to telkom, and got it reduced. yet the next month he does it again. :confused:

No, but have you seen how big HDTV rips are these days? :p

Anyway, I can understand people being mildly surprised the first time. Telkom are known to be lenient with blended usage, for example.

They can't really be upset at being billed, though. They were told.

Just to be on the safe side, I never went over my limit. (Although it is moderately challenging to do so with 384kbps, I will admit.)
 
A 2gig saix account comes wth 20gigs free local cap correct?
 
Telkom do say they "reserve the right to charge" not "they will charge". so depending on how brave you are you can take your chances.
 
yep, u gonna get an account for local gigs after March 2008 based per month, a friend of mine recieved a wopping close to R2000, yes 2 grand for downloading close on 105 Gigs
