Migrated from Telkom ADSL to LTE which barely connects at 2mb. Telkom will not revert to ADSL package as promised.

What router did they supply you with?

With Telkom they run 3 LTE bands and when a router is left on Auto it might not always be the fastest band.

If you have a B315, B618 or B525 you can login to the router to force the LTE to a specific band to see if speed gets better.

The biggest thing I see is that people think 4G is simple and if I buy a 4G phone or router it must work. Sadly LTE is more complex than that. Different bands, mimo, carrier aggregation. All these play a role in whether you get 2Mbps or 50Mbps from the same tower.

You are right Cavedog. I found out today that my B315 router would connect to a 4G tower, but might not use the best "Band".
From reading more posts on MyBB, I found the tool "Toolbox" Used it to connect to my router and told it to use Band3. And that made a huge difference.

I have the B525 router. I only have this LTE for less than a week. Logged 2x support requests. No change and they will not revert me back to my adsl package like they assured me.

Lol, you are lucly. The whole day I was lucky to get 200kbps on Telkom LTE. Just tried 20 minutes ago. Downloads still averaging at 110kbps.

Just change the LTE bands as I advised and check if the speeds improve.

I signed up for Telkom Fixed LTE through Axxess.

Can I use this at work and also take it on holiday with me, this whole fixed thing is confusing and locked to towers etc.

I need the thing to work when I get back from holiday or will I have issues?
The area I'm going to had Telkom LTE

As far as I know Telkom LTE isn't really fixed... MTN, however... Is fixed. I signed up via Afrihost and I have the Telkom sim in my dual sim phone and I move around and it works wherever I go - but the MTN sim deal is REALLY fixed to one tower.

Probably dumb question but after checking Telkom coverage map which the area I’m holidayin as having Telkom coverage, router not picking up 3G or 4G, shows Vodacom mtn 65055 networks though?
