I think its funny, Telkom call themselves a world class ISP and yet they still do this:

if a ""world class"" ISP's website is designed for firefox 1.5 and IE 6 - does this not constitute as an epic FAIL?

well. some of them dont think websites are important. they are also the same people that lead the company. thus, you can do the math, its pretty much all destined to result in a intergalactic ****up with terrabytes of paper pushing and over reaching projects with too little nitty-gritty. i could be wrong though.

Didn't quite do your homework before posting, or what?

Nice link there, bradrap!

oh lookie. FF is pwning the show with build quality and performance (not that chrome is by any means a lesser.) the fragmentation of IE in that table is a glaring tribute to microsnots inability to organize even the simplest auto update mechanism, thus resulting in a slew of "supported" bug ridden browsers.

I wouldn't quite call it a fail to advertise your website as being cross-browser compatible. Those still constitute for a fair share of users, probably more so here in SA.

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

read the small print. those stats are specific to that site.
browser stats are very specific to each site.
but, yes, ie6 is still a large player in our market. ff older versions less so, because it auto updates by default iirc.
imo putting browser requirements on a site is a bit like a hit counter - it looks unprofessional.
either you're able to build cross platform standards-based code which is accessible to the broadest possible audience or you're too lazy, don't know your users well enough or are too inexperienced to be bothered.

In other words Telkom?
