Hi there

Have two of these buggery Marconi routers.

What happens is that, if you want to switch them into bridged mode, these buggers just freeze up - they don't want to go into bridged mode at all.

Apart from a large hammer and a proper router, what can be done to force these things into bridged mode without any hassles?

Regards

Libs

From my limited use of these routers at friends places, they can be in both bridged and normal mode at the same time. So don't set up an account on the router and just try set up a connection on the computer that you want to dial up.

Tried that as well... no luck :(

stupid cheap junk...

If the router is reset to factory defaults it should be in bridged mode by default. Is it one of the 4 port ethernet routers? - I know that the factory default for those is to have bridge mode enabled.

It's those with the single ethernet port.

Those ancient thingies...

Have one with 4 ports, works like a dream.

I have one of the 4 port ones as well, never have any problems. Using it in bridged mode with raspppoe and route sentry through my wireless router.

I had the pleasure of destroying one the other day, my friends one blew in a lightning storm, we smashed it to pieces :)
