Why in the world would the switch just stop working for no reason? There was no lightning or power spikes whatsoever last night but somehow it just broke.

I can see that the modem syncs and connects to the internet with the telkom guest account. Also when I reset the modem the lights from the switch lights up for a few seconds so that should mean that the physical hardware is not broken. But when it initializes all the ethernet lights go on and thats it.

Will the Telkom offices be open tomorrow so that I can go and swap this piece of crap?

I know heat can somtimes cause physical damage to components.....My DSTV unit cooked because of no adequate ventilation.

Telkom should be open tomorow....although they will most likely have a half day.;)

The frustration that is the 100wr

Also had some odd problems with this switch. Firstly the wireless light just died one week, along with any possibility of connecting wirelessly. A week after that none of the ethernet ports worked and all I could use to connect to it was the usb port. Eventually that died too.

I almost forgot to mention that the power cable's connection was so bad that just by touching it, the power would cut off and the switch would die. After much contortion I would be able to turn it on again.

Luckily swapping the switch for a new one wasn't too much of a hassle and now I have the 105wr model which is working well so far aside from some odd settings glitches. They even changed the power cable's connection (it's fatter now) so now it doesn't cut out for stupid reasons.

Good luck on replacing your switch man. I feel your pain.

For reasons unknown (maybe 2ctelecoms can help us) you can only use hexadecimal characters so A-F and 0-9 in your PSK
