Here where I live the only reliable cellular network is Telkom. Cell C pre-paid is cheapest in the lower price ranges but the network is not very reliable, Mtn is very expensive but the network is totally unreliable, the only time I can connect with Mtn is when I get 2g signal and we all know how slow that is! Mtn Hsdpa+ - no connect, Mtn 3g - No connect!
Vodacom - Not even an option - Way too expensive and unreliable network!

Funny how nobody ever mentions the fact that when you buy Telkom pre-paid airtime you get the same value FREE airtime which is valid for 7 yes seven days and to ANY network AND is used before the airtime you paid for! No other network can match that! I buy pre-paid airtime, use it to buy data and still have airtime for 7 days. Try to beat that!

Telkom is the cheapest of all on pre-paid and contract, have a reliable network and proper "Free airtime"

I purchased the 2+1 data and received R150 airtime FREE plus the normal 10GB wi-fi (which I can't at my location)
Just cancelled two contracts with CellC third one due for cancellation in July 2015 last next year July 2016

How much does Telkom pay you for the advertizing?

If you give good service or value for money you don't need to pay for advertising. Your satisfied customers will do it free. Conversely, if you treat your customers badly they will go to any lengths to tell the world even if it costs a bundle. Cell C learnt this the hard way with the banner on the World Wear building in Beyers Naude Drive.
