Telkom Mobile - Lag, disconnects etc

This was not a problem until about two weeks ago. For over two years now I've had a steady 50ms with no dropping.

NOW? I have to try to connect maybe 2 dozen times before it takes, then I get this.

I have ceased using Telkom and gone with CelC.

In short: Telkom moved one of the receivers/distribution towers in my area and put it behind a nice big hill. Game over.

Incidentally I'm experiencing the exact same thing since yesterday. Sweet 50ms ping for weeks on end and since yesterday I was getting up to a 1000ms ping response to 8.8.8.8 and www.google.com.

I'm located in the underbelly of the northern suburbs, Cape Town.
