I'm getting so frustrated here, I'm trying to activate my online profile for a site but I need a OTP, problem is Telkom Mobile decides I don't need one and refuses to deliver them to me (I've been trying for 3 weeks now).

Spoke to the place and they claim it's Telkom's fault as they can see from their side the issue is with Telkom. Complain to Telkom and open a ticket only to find out a few days later they closed the ticket "because they couldn't get a hold of me", just closed it without any resolution.

So now I had to open another ticket and hopefully before they just decide to close it again they'll add a solution this time.

So far your service really stinks Telkom.
 
Why not try take it up with your bank?

They will most likely take it up with their service provider, and get it sorted out. Banks seem pretty keen on getting issues like that sorted out.

otp for which service? something seems not right? is it not a setting or block setting on the phone.
 
It's for Coronation.

I get my other OTPs but not this specific one, they gave me a screenshot which show that from their side it's fine it's the service provider that's not delivering them.
 
Also had this kind of issue whilst trying to pay for an order until i eventually had to use an alternative method, frustrating
 
Have not had an issue with Telkom's OTP yet.

I did have a problem not receiving Standard Bank OTP and asked them to change it to email (since I thought it was telkom's fault as well, but didn't receive any via email either, so in my case the fault was with Standard Bank, not Telkom.

But i'm not sure how it can be their fault as OTP is sent as a standard SMS. If you can receive other SMS' then surely you should be able to receive theirs. Try your online banking for example and see if their OTP gets through to your phone.

see if your phone as a spam list or something similar that blocks certain numbers, I know its a long shot, but it just might help.
Normally it is under sms settings, if your phone has it.

Another option ( if you are really desperate) is to port your number to Cell C. You can port it back to TM free of charge in 2 months
 
Chances are the banks are using a WASP to send the messages. The WASP most likely has it's own connections to networks. So there may be a problem with the bank, or the WASP process - which is why I suggested OP take it up with the bank.

It's not a bank it's Coronation. As I said I've already spoken to them, they provided the screenshot of the system and the error codes produced which shows it's a service provider issue. There's not really more I can expect from them when it's not their fault and there's no point badgering them for something that's not in their control.

I had an issue before with Gmail OTPs which sorted itself out magically after a phonecall to Telkom.

As for the spam list I definitely don't have one, I even went and tried another phone (which I knew was useless) just to make the 'support' technician happy.

Coronation have offered an alternative method, however the issue will still stand that I'm not getting the OTPs I should be and then Telkom is off the hook for sorting it out. I don't pay them every month for them to sometimes work.

I have been registering for the Telkom Mobile App but still cant get the "OTP".
Telkom I am also not happy about the 450GB I cant not get it.
