Do these expire?
IE, if I buy a 1000 SMS bundle for my alarm's GSM module, will they last until they're all sent, or will they expire after a couple of months?
Also, is it possible to get alerts about bundle depletion sent to a different number? There's no point my alarm getting told it's running out of SMSs, I need to be told...

Once-off Messaging Bundles:
Valid until the end of the next month.

If you have a contract with an SMS bundle, have you considered getting a dual sim and leveraging your inclusive sms's. That way you dont have to worry about managing your prepaid line. If you need a bundle, load it on the primary. Unless you're one of those people that still use sms on your phone

No contracts.

What's your source for the bundle info?

damn :(

Thanks

Hmm.
Can you check balances etc from a web site?

To my knowledge on prepaid, no and also highly unlikely. I would suggest purchasing bundles through your banking app or site, but to check the balance without removing the sim, you would need to call TelkomMobile's prepaid cc.

Yeah would definitely buy via FNB... ebucks ftw :p

But this doesn't sound like a workable solution :(

Not if you want peace of mind. The only means of an online self-service portal is via your sp on a contract.

Not sure what @Sydwayz is talking about but it is very possible to manage your telkom sim from any location via the website and if it is on prepaid or contract it will work.

Just register a account @ onnet.8ta.com

Link the number with your profile and you can manage the account there which includes viewing balances, topping up airtime with credit card, recharge vouchers and buy sms or data bundles.

If you visit the website onnet.8ta.com from the simcard it would automatically log in. If you access it from adsl or any other connection it would prompt you to register for a account and then link your number. Best option is just to link it as it will send a otp to the sim.

Ooh!
Thanks! Will check it out with my main sim once the port completes...

Kickass... registering with my ID number picked up all my accounts all in one place (prepaid + multisim 10+10) - thanks! this is exactly what I need. Will be porting my alarm number to them as well I think.

Cool. All sorted with all your numbers in one dashboard where you can manage them where ever you are. Very cool indeed.
