Telkom MSAN and VDSL info

I had an interesting conversation with someone I know at Telkom. They had some sort of an information session today. Some interesting things that came up:

1. MSAN(s) is going live in Waterkloof tonight. Well he said some sort of a switch over. ( I don't know a lot about these things so I don't know exactly what it means, but the MSAN is taking over from the thing it is replacing)
2. They are aiming to launch VDSL commercially in August this year( Think he mentioned the 5th).
3. If your going to be using the VDSL service ( the 10, 20 ,40Mbps) then Telkom will be your only choice of ISP.

This seems a bit faster than it normally takes Telkom to do things.

I know but I thought the original plan was to start the pilot in June and that this court case against them would've delayed it.

That is what I said to him but he made it sound like it will be like this even after the launch.

Court case delays the phase 1 projects where new tenders were awarded and not the pilot projects.

He did mention kidneys. He said that he can only imagine how expensive it is going to be if you compare it to current prices.
