I used a mega 105WR router from Telkom till lightning struck it. Telkom replaced it with a Netgear N300 router. They are also my ISP

My daughter has an uncapped account with Mweb and we used to be able to switch the old router between the Telkom and Mweb accounts when she visits over weekends. We are unable to manage that with the replacements Netgear one, all sorts of settings available but does not connect to Mweb only Telkom. We tried various combinations and ran out of ideas.

Can anyone guide us on this issue. (Made in China so the user manual is useless.) Or is this router Telkom spesific?

Hope someone can assist us.

Have you gone in the router to edit the settings (username + password)?

Yes we did can only connect to telkom can not switch to the mweb account

Did it save the settings? Because if it did the mweb account might have Account protection activated which locks your line number to your account so someone with your details wont be allowed to access the internet.

oh greek to me lol,
will take a look again and see if I can pick ite up somehow. Thanks

Thank you for the assist. That seems to be the problem. Do I do a factory reset and start afresh? Any idea how to then set up the two accounts without falling into the same trap?

Log into your account here then click ADSL and you should see on the left hand side something about account protection.
