Hi,

I have purchased the PACE VDSL router, it does not work for more than half an hour before disconnecting. I have a 20mb adsl2+ line, and a Telkom D-link modem, but i want to change the PACE for a Netgear.

But here is the real problem, I cannot get hold of a Telkom store that answers their telephone to find out if they have stock of the modem, as i have been to 2 stores and they do not have. I cannot be driving up and down to stores to enquire about their stock.
Is there possibly someway other to find out which store has stock?

Thanks

I believe you but the Netgear is the cheapest through them.

In that case which modem will be the most ideal for SNR and attentuation, apparently the Netgear is quite good.

Yes but the custom junkware (firmware) that they put on it is junk, how much are they asking for it?

Post you line stats please.

Will check later this evening, the stats are slightly better than the Dlink, but the Dlink does not disconnect and i get good speeds.

Just had an experience trying to swap/return the PACE, according to the lady in the sales department at the store, because i am on a 20mb line they will not give me a Netgear, only the PACE, if i want the Netgear i have to drop to 4/10mb and then upgrade to 20mb after. This was after the argument that i am not on VDSL but ADSL, she still says that its VDSL and i need to have the PACE. So i said to hell with it, i will return the PACE tomorrow, didn't have the energy to do it today.

Well if you are on VDSL then the netgear wont work because the pace is a VDSL router and the netgear isnt.
