Telkom No Infrastructure ?

Hi
Been waiting since the middle of August this year for Telkom to connect a line with ADSL. We have an installed line
in the House since we moved in but not active. went to their office in August was told due to the Exchange being full it would be September before they could give me a line. That came and went now its November, Just had a Tex telling me theirs no Infrastructure in my Area. So no line for me. Im wondering how my neighbours who all have phone lines with ADSl from Tekom managed to get connected ?

Hey Ian/Killie77... Have you tried contacting TelkomZA yet with this the official telkom rep on the MYBB Website.... Im very sure him and team will be able to assist with this.

Will have a look at the website, to be honest I don't hold out much hope. We came over from the UK about 3 months ago. wasn't expecting terrific service from Telkom as i had done some research before coming over, even so I'm very disappointed in their service
If this keeps up will have to try and find some alternative route for Broadband using their 60+60 at the moment but the wife likes her Soaps so constantly downloading is eating up the allowance :crying:

I am having the same trouble with them! They also state there is no Infrastructure yet my neighbor just got his line a month ago. Lets try contacting TelkomZA.

'No infrastructure' is just a term they use to say no ports available at present.

Spoke to Telkom this afternoon regarding the lack of Ports at the exchange. They have told me If i can find the previous owners telephone number or better still ID number they may be able to help. I'm confused how that would help ?
I met the previous owner when we bought the House. But never thought to ask for the line Number or his ID Number. What i'm wondering as Telkom must have billed him why don't they know the number ?

The 'no infrastructure in the area' is a lack of ports at the nearest distribution box.

I'm having the same problem in Houghton Estate -- I've been waiting since March 2012! In the meantime I'm using Telkom's Fixed-Line Lookalike service and trying to get by on 10GB (+10GB NiteSurfer) a month.

Had their 25+25 the Wife went through that like a Hot knife through Butter
currently on their 60+60 seems a lot but also seems to go quick. looking in to some Wireless Broadband solutions
see how i get on wit that
