Telkom not refunding deposit

When I first created a phone account with Telkom in 2015, I was asked to pay a R700 deposit, if I wanted to make use of their services, which I promptly did, upon cancelling my services, two months ago, I am yet to have any acknowledgement that my request for refund of my deposit have even been received. This is in my opinion is unacceptable, and a breach of the good faith I had in Telkom to see this through. Considering all the many months, during which Telkom overcharged me, I am not paying them another cent, and I expect them to see my request through, and refund my deposit ASAP.
 
That is the reason I gave consent for a credit check. Back then I had to give consent for a credit check to waive the deposit. If I failed the credit check or refused consent for a credit check had to pay a deposit. Always wondered how you are going to get the deposit back after a few years...
 
Credit check is not an option for some of us. I was on a work visa so they asked me to pay the deposit to get a connection. Now Telkom won't cancel my services nor give me service at the new address.
 
I managed to cancel my ADSL without a fuss and then proceeded to port my landline number to FreshPhone. This basically cancelled the service because my next bill was R0.
Telkom Online Bill Alert : Please be advised that your account, is now available for viewing and balance is R0 as at 2018-11-04.
Telkom actually owe me R304.25 but thats going to be a small price to pay at the end of the day.
I have now formally cancelled the service online with 30 days notice. Lets see what comes of that.
 
Phoned Telkom on Tuesday and got a very nice person on the line -take note you need your banking details when claiming your deposit ,i did not have it so she sent me her e-mail at Telkom so i could give her all the details -got a REF no on my cell phone ,Wednesday got a sms that the matter was resolved and Thursday afternoon the deposit was paid into my account AM I LUCKY or what lol

yes, you are because now Telkom fixed line barely has any customers left compared to what they once had
