Is the telkom notebooks any good? thinking of getting one the "HP notebook entry"

R5300 or R270 over 24 months...

any feedback are welcome

Damn right. My philosophy is that you save up until you can buy the item with cash.

The only advantage with this, is that you can put it on your telephone account and pay it off.

I would not buy anything from Telkom right now - they normally release their specials after the Annual Results' Day (13 June).
