Telkom plans surveillance product

The intended surveillance product will be based on existing access mediums – ISDN and ADSL – states the RFI.

What?!?! They are going to stream live video over ISDN or ADSL?!!?!?!?!? I dont know what to make of this. Can they really be THIS stupid? And more than likely, if they do get it running over ADSL, they will charge per GB. How much money will this cost the user? I reckon THOUSANDS.

surveillance application is a good move

One only has to look at your firewall on a Telkom network to see that this has been going on for a long time anyway, perhaps they are now thinking.... hey let's cover our butts the legal way, that way no one can spoil the fun

And the best part of it all is that with the way things are the customer ends up paying more, get more spam, Telkom gets you on dial up charges, sitting in cyberspace while un-known to you, you are been scanned and check, guess who is paying, the stupid dial-up customer

You must have been reading my posts Telkom. Now why don't you
prevent us from building our Dslam exchanges and provide us a VPN
ADSL link to a camera on each street corner. I am sure you can manage the
setup in such a way that no International broadband is sold via this link only
local loop Video?
