I am paying for Telkom prepaid LTE via a monthly EFT from my bank account. The value of the transaction is the same as the required data bundle and the type of transaction is specified as data in the EFT. The money goes into the Telkom account as airtime, which requires logging into the Telkom site and translating this into a data bundle.

Is there any way to buy the LTE data without having the admin hassle of going into the Telkom site every month?

For prepaid, yes you can buy directly from telkom site using your CC. But EFT has never been a hassle for me.

When you do an EFT does it immediately translate into a data bundle?

In my case I have to go into the Telkom site after the EFT to transfer the amount from airtime into data.

No you have convert the airtime to data. But doing it on the site, I think you can directly buy a data bundle.. ( I have not tried it yet TBH )

Thanks. I should probably look at playing with the options on the internet banking page.

You won't find the smartbroadband bundles on your internet banking site though so the only way is to load airtime and then load the bundle or buy the bundle directly with your credit card or debit card from the telkom website.

Did it a couple of times with my Capitec card and seems to work well. Bought the R50 500gb night surfer like that too.

It looks like there is no way to set this up so that it happens automatically every month.
