Hi guys, i need some help.
So iv moved into a new complex in Rynfield, Benoni. Long story short, i got telkom to come over to install a new line, now my complex i live in has no infrastructure for adsl, no wires pre-installed etc. I got email permission from the Body Corporate, the rental agency, and the owner of my flat to get a line installed directly from the telephone that is across my unit. The pole is around 6m away from my unit. (see picture)
The house adjacent to my has adsl and a line installed, they tease me with their wifi connection...
So a technician comes over, has a 5 minute look, says no infrastructure, i explain to him the whole scenario posted above, then he says there are no ADSL ports available at the exchange. After a few days i call his bluff and i find out from telkom themselves there ARE ports available.
I apply again, ask for a different technician for a second opinion, i get a installation appointment via sms, from 8am-5pm low and behold the SAME guy rocks up, at 4:30pm!!! When iv been waiting since 8am....after another 5 minutes he tells me there are no lines available, and i still think he telling me bull****. I know its a lot of work to install my line, do you think he is just trying to avoid hard work?
Im on 3g at the moment, but my wife needs alot of data for her work, (photography) and its getting ridiculously expensive to keep buy data, even from Afrihost etc..
Is there anything i can do? I'm near desperation. Should i keep reapply until another techy comes over?
