About 3 years ago my phone cables were stolen a few times, so Telkom refused to replace them. So I kept on hoping for them to get fibre optic cables or for them to do something about the problem but nothing has been done. Does anyone know if something can be done about this it's been 3 years already!

You have no chance. They will offer you a 'fixed-wireless' service if you are in a w-cdma area.

Dude, when I applied for ADSL 4MB. I was told this was not possible as the lines are too old and a project is currently in progress to replace them. telkuk said this project would take 14 months. This I was 4 years ago.

We atleast have fibre optic cables in the ground however telkuk refuses point blank to use them. Thats right. They spent R300 000 on a new fibre optic system but wont cut over now. They connect more and more houses to the old copper cables.

Sometimes I wonder if humans can be this stupid or if its intentional.

You can try upgrading to a business line. Apparently Telkom cares more about their business consumers. Fibre is out of the question however.

Sometimes at work when the line goes down and I call in the Telkom guy he comes 3 hours later.

The main problem with telkom is the lack of skilled workers they have, once and a while you get one that know what he's doing, i worked for telkom for about 2 months then i quit due to idiots in charge, projects and plans never stay the same and are constantly changing making a good idea a F*****... welcome to the new South Africa eish....
