I've got a Telkom ADSL router that has been working fine:sick: until today.

I am able to browse normally, i'm using the internet connection now, but there are 2 strange things:

1. I cannot get onto the control panel of the router (Http://10.0.0.2 returns the 'Internet Explorer Cannot Display...)

2. I cannot Ping the router.

Everything else seems to be fine, but i need to get into the control panel to enable the wireless connection...

I've tried powering down and un-plugging the router and PC for 30-60s, tried manually configuring the IP address and returning to DHCP to get IP from the router, but makes no difference. i can still browse fine, but can't get onto the control panel.

I'm nervous of hitting the reset button on the router in case i STILL can't get onto the control panel to then re-enter the username and password...

Any ideas??

Ok do you have your ip on automatic? if its not then change it to automatic. I am sure thats the problem.

Try resetting the router (small button at the back). This will reset the router to factory default

dont you people read he is to scared to push reset and has his IP on automatic.... read carefully.... and sorry dude no ideas. if it is faulty take it to telkscum

Tried It

Yeah it is set to auto config,

Tried setting it manually, it makes no diff either way...

Is there a way to telnet in to the router maybe, i remember reading something about using telnet to upload firmware... hmmm

If you are using the SAIX proxy cache make sure you disable it... or allow for the router address in your exceptions list.
