Alright.

I was trying to input new account details into my Telkom Marconi router. You then have to reboot the thing. During the reboot process, I think it hanged... It stayed on the "saving and rebooting - please wait" screen forever. I waited like fifteen minutes and then decided to turn it off.

Now when I turn it back on, it doesn't sync. The ethernet ports still all work and it still works as a LAN hub, but the internet connection doesn't work and I can't evn ping the router's IP, leave alone access the HTML interface.

Anyone know how I might fix it? Telkom have said they'll replace it, but if it can be fixed...

Thanks.

Try a reset, its a little hole with a button at the back or underneath. press for 10 secs

These routers only have a lifespan of a few months anyways, I've replaced two in a year and a half, just take it to the telkom shop, they might even give you a newer version, I bet it's the four port ethernet broadband one you have right? you could try and reset it for longer than 10 seconds, try a minute and make sure it's reset, telkom routers = hell on earth, get yourself a billion if you can, I'm switching as soon as I've got spare cash.

well if that don't work then best bet is to get it swopped out and change your isp pwd.

My friends d-link router crashed during a firmware upgrade last night and it was as dead as a dodo... But i managed to install the firmware and now its working again :)

The answer is simple. It is stuffed! I had to exhange two Marconi routers with exactly the same problem. Telkom does not even give them out anymore. You will get a whole new router. So rush down to Telkom. Even Telkom realised the Marconi routers are crap!

I did rush down to Telkom, and they replaced it.

Too bad it's another Marconi one. <_<

Well, at least I know they'll replace it if the same thing happens again.
