Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me.... I'm currently on a telkom 2mb line and they have just redone their pricing such that their. 4mb line is the same price as I'm currently paying for the 2mb line. I called telkom to ask them to upgrade me to the 4mb line.

They said to me that there isn't a port available, which makes no sense, I'm on the benmore exchange and can get up to. 40mb on my line.

Any help please??

Makes absolutely no sense.

Phone again and stress that you have an existing ADSL service and don't want a new service!!

2 -> 4Mbps will use the same port. FACT.

Yea I thought and said the exact same thing?? Tried 4 times, kept getting told same thing??

No supervisors are every available to speak either, I see sometimes telkom replies on here, think I'll be so lucky?

Thanks for all the replies so far!!

Awesome, will do, thanks so so much! You guys rock!

You can also try @HelloTelkom vis twitter. They respond 24/7.

They even did a port reset for me at 1am :)

Hope the SM department don't get out sourced during all of this retrenchment stuff with Telkom.
Hope not. It's great having someone who speaks geek helping you. It can be frustrating when the call centre doesn't understand why you can't live without Internet.

Well even the call center cannot do most things now, has to be escalated to higher levels for everything these days.

And you could reset your port and stabilise your line via afrihost's clientzone with any escalation.

Although afrihost ruined the Stabilize line feature which was given to ISPs. As clients then could change their sync which caused unstable lines when Techs specifically set the sync speeds lower so that a line was stable which ended up in more work being made for the Telkom technicians.
