Telkom says Future Fibre

Hi,Guys I recently phoned telkom to see if fibre was in my area but when I asked they Said I am eligible for future fibre....i know what future fibre is but does any one know a time frame from how long it can take to finish doing the fibre?

Yes, anywhere within 200 years. There isn't really an answer for this question. Best would be to phone Telkom to ask them.
 
If you go to their coverage web site it shows you as light purple. I know of areas about 2 years later that are still light purple. One section in my area has gone dark purple however that section has not moved at all. When Telkom was selling promoting Fiber at the street corner I asked them how long. They said 2 months. Those 2 months have come and gone. It has been almost a year waiting for them to complete. Still waiting

Yep you will be eligible in the future :) anything from tomorrow to the 1st of Nevermber
What area are you in - maybe another Forumite in the same area may have more info

I think that's similar to Vumatel's map where it shows whether people have shown interest, So it's up to telkom when they want to come and lay fibre

I could be wrong but I don't think telkom has a feedback system for interested parties, I think their map indicates planned fibre or fibre in the rollout phase.
 
Durban is slow with fibre rollouts. I'm not even checking anymore. It rather be a surprise to me :crylaugh:
