Ok so my ADSL was up but fresh out of dial tone. Called the dreaded 0800375375 selected option for line fault. Expected long wait so put the celphone on speaker.....Immediately music stopped an the chic answered :confused: :D. Within 2 minutes she had tested my line and detemined a line fault (this was all at 20h00). Next morning the tech comes to the house and he had already tested from outside my house (i was still sleeping - long story) and he now wanted to do a final test.....ALL SORTED!

Well it certainly caught me by suprise as you hear such nasty stories here.
Well done Telkom , then again I suppose thats what I pay for. :)

Lots of these types of messages recently - pretty scary if you ask me  :D

interesting... Telkom actually focusing on providing some service for which we pay? Let's see how far the rabbit hole goes... :D

..actually giving the whole 'customer service' thing a whirl... I'm in shock!

Maybe improving their help desk - but not their physical service delivery. My line has been dead for more than 3 weeks, and I can't get them to even tell me when they think it will be repaired.

The last update I was able to get (and his is the most detailed one by far) was the "the line" is "damaged" in 17 places and a "new technician" has been assigned to the problem.

Telkom, you SUCK!

And today I cannot phone the helpdesk. It connects and drop the call 10 sec later.

Well my own recent experience was quite different. I called the Broadband helpline to report very slow internet and high latency. The guy said if the line was slow he would transfer me to the sales line so they could sell me a faster one!!

I then had to redial since the guy hung up on me (idiot). They logged the call incorrectly as a line fault. They then closed the fault before checking with me. I had to reopen a new one. They said I would get a new DSLAM, but they never did the work on the day they promised (swore). They then closed the fault without checking it. I opened a new one and never heard anything back.

Waste of time tbo.

I am also quite impressed with the technical department, my line went down towards the end of August, again. Logged a fault report on their website on Monday morning, 30 minutes later got a call to confirm the problem. Same morning a technician came and tried to fix it. I went home the problem still not fixed, next morning got a call from Telkom to say the problem is resolved and remote testing showed my line is up again.

yeah, i phone them on a regular basis. i too have noticed an improvement.
