Hi Guys,

I'm going to Sub to that R 100 showmax thingy on Telkom mobile. The issue here is that I will get a voucher (which I won't use, since I have it free via DSTV anyway)

Was wondering if I can just pass that "free" showmax voucher on to anyone, since I only need the Free data on Telkom mobile which I need to pay the R 100 for anyway...

Seems like I almost farked this up. I'll just change my Promo deal to the Freeme 5GB which is slightly more and then get 50GB worth of data to stream for free instead. No subscription needed.

Lit video? Just remember that "streams are limited to 360p definition" with Telkom lit.

So no use for DSTV explora with the wifi dongle?
I can't comment on the explora but from what I understand they limit the stream to around 1mbps.

I bought prepaid bundle to test with, quality on Showmax doesn't seem to bad. DSTV Now stutters when you set it to steam anything above 360p, quality seems worse with DSTV Now for some reason.

I got caught by this scam. Showmax advertised it as a "special" if you pay via Telkom account. They said R100 for 3 months, so R33 p/m. Telkom billed me R100 p/m anyways.

Your point? Should he have started a new thread instead of asking in this one with people who already may have experience in the subject at hand?

It's a "saying" ... 50% of forumites use it when someone wakes up an old thread .... get over it!

It's more to let everyone else know this is an old thread so they dont have to go out of their ways to find answers for the OP, cause if the OP didn't find the right answer, he would have kept the thread alive himself :p

It doesn't count as a necro if it's on topic, it's relevant to necro this. Usually one writes necro if it's e.g. an off topic thread or if the original topic isn't really relevant anymore.

No, but it is useful to announce/acknowledge the necro so people understand that some of the issues experienced years ago may no longer be relevant. :)

No harm, no foul.
