Telkom Simple uncapped plus????

Hey Forum, I am currently using the Telkom simple Plus - which is basically 20GB during the day and ucapped from 12:00pm till 07:00am on a 4mb line - and a 60GB account from Afrihost, both accounts set me back R628. So basically what i'd like to know is whether the telkom simple uncapped Plus package would be considered an unprade?? If not, what would? My budget is R800

Same rules apply with your capped account so schedule large files between 00-00 & 07-00 and you won't see that usage bar turn orange or red :).

Rough estimate if downloading during night-surfer time:

430KB/s [incl tcp overhead] @ 1.5GB/h x 7hrs = 73.5GB/week roughly.

Remember YMMV so take this as a guideline :) but definitely go for it and not take a contract as said above.

Edit: Just to add.

If you can stretch the budget by about R170 a month you can add a Vox FP rollover data account which starts at 50GB and adds up as long as you keep the account active. This will give you an advantage of any large downloads for daytime [remember when switching accounts] :p.

Its not that simple. If you just want to push the account hard then rather upgrade to 10mb, stay on capped and push it during night time surfer.
 
There is another thread where people are complaining about being throttled at about 250 gig on the 4meg uncapped.

Hi,

I've done something like this... i upgraded to 10mb line... And have a 10gb telkom account that i switch to at 00:00 and switch back to my normal account @ 06:55...

10gn account costs me R99 / month and i've been getting 20-22gb a night from that. Then i use a different account during the day

And i use 2ish gigs a day on data.. sometimes a bit more sometimes a bit less... but the trick here is my day time account was a promo that i got with my TV :-) So im trying to let that run for the full 12 months

2 months in a row - i got to 260gig-ish before I had to accept the AUP/FUP... Bigggest problem I had with this account was 5pm - 11pm was 150-200k speeds, and streaming media was horrible :-( I did suspect this was my exchange...
