I've done a setup for a client with the SpaceStream express - 512k - run the Gilat unit as DHCP/NAT - enter vsat u/p and TIPS password - fun..

does anyone have experience with the SpaceStream office...massive unit with phones ect...only 64kbit...telkom just placed the unit and ran...didn't leave manuals..nothing.

i'm gonna try normal 586 UTP cable into switch and try DHCP ..but the description worries me..

SpaceStream Express (SSE) is powered by the Gilat's Skystar 360E platform. This platform is a flexible, always available, two-way IP-based system that supports interactive IP applications ideally suited for the Internet environment. The system is configured to support several customized Internet packages ranging from 64kbps to 512kbps.

SpaceStream Office (SSO) is powered by Gilat's DialAw@y IP platform. This platform converges VSAT solutions for voice and fax with always-available Internet access. The IP capability is limited to 64Kbps but it provides up to 4 independent voice lines.

so i'm worried that it might be something like a PPPOE or something - have no manuals to go about - and the spacestream support is as useful as a fearsome doorstop..

2cents?
