2 days ago we ordered an adsl line plus an access point.Today it is installed and ready to use.I dont understand this ,as it normally takes 6 weeks for them to come out.Why the quick service. This is truelly the devils work.Has anyone had such fast service before.
Plus the techie said that a new faster line will becoming out soon next year
I think he said 4 gig line,i might be mistaken

This is the first time in a year that i am dealing with telkom adsl.
What company will supply me with a user and pass... for 10 gig cap at an affordable price.

I guess he meant 4mbps line. If it is coming out next year, then the testing is nearly done and Telkom will want to smoke us poor 1mbps folks (who were temporarily upgraded to 4mbps) for more $$$$$$ after getting us used to higher speeds. TURDS!

I recommend WebAfrica.co.za for that account u want.

I asked him if he knew of a myadsl.co.za ,(ha ha he laughed)and told me his friend told him of such a place,He said he know s of the bad rep they give there,I said to him its ol good,he.he

you probably know this but how does telkom employes have 10 gigs to play with, when they have a telkom internet username and password which is valid for a 3 gig cap shaped or unshaped
How do they do this amasing feat.

from what I've heard, most telkom accounts are good for at least 10gigs.. very very soft cap to attract customers and screw over the other ISP's

y dont they just call the accounts 10gigs? or even 5gigs it would attract even more customers

Because Telkom ISP supposedly buys their bandwidth from SAIX, same as the other ISP's. It wouldn't be possible for them to offer 10gig accounts at the current prices, they'd get nailed by the competition commission! So they're just doing it surreptitiously.. they did send out those letters recently threatening action against "abusers", but nothings going to happen because they'd lose most of their customers if they changed their capping policies.

And 384k will be prob be upgraded to 512k

I hope they don't - it's hard with all this crap International bandwidth and shaping to even max a 384 kbps line out.
I'd rather they drop the rental below R150/month but the chances of that happening are probably close to non-existent.
